Yes, it definitely feels good to have won the Kenyon Midget Series championship! I look forward to being honored next weekend (Oct 31) along with the Focus champ Joe Ligouri and the Regional Midget champion Kyle Hamilton. I've got a lot of respect for both of those guys and it will be an honor to share the stage with them at the DK Promotions Awards Banquet.
The only bad part about winning the championship is that it means the season is over and I won't be in the car every week. During the off-season I have a little more time to focus on the other things I enjoy.
I'm working out regularly at St. Vincent Sports Performance. I do most of my training with Carol Happ and she's awesome. We've really been getting after it to continue improving my upper body strength. If you're looking for a place to train, for any sport, I encourage you to check out SVSP.
My second six weeks of school ends in a couple weeks, which is scary. I can't believe we've already gone through almost two grading periods. I have one more six weeks, and then it's winter break which means the year is half over. I've always gotten pretty good grades but I've really focused on school this year and my grades have been even better. And I'm really enjoying school more this year which is important.
I'm still playing bass guitar. I take a lesson each week with Jon E. Gee who is the bass player for John Mellencamp. He's a great guy and I really enjoy the time we spend together. It's fun to go in there and rock with him each week. I'm also playing a lot at church which is always fun. That's a good band.
Looking forward to getting my driver's license in about two months. I thought I would be able to wait without getting too anxious, but seeing everybody else with their licenses has made me a bit jealous. I know my time will come soon enough I suppose but I'm ready!
Talk to you again soon!
Dillon
