DK Promotions honored its three racing champions at the annual post-season awards banquet Saturday night at Lumiere Du Corps Resort in Lebanon, Indiana.  

Kenyon Midget champion Dillon Welch, Regional Midget winner Kyle Hamilton, and Ford Focus champ Joe Ligouri took home the prized hardware as the season's top performers. 

"It was a great night," said 2009 Kenyon Midget Series Champ Dillon Welch. "It's always nice to wrap up the season with an awards banquet but it's especially memorable when you're honored as champion." 

Welch won six of the 13 Kenyon Midget feature races enroute to the title.  Along with being recognized for is on-track success, series promoter Don Kenyon also took time to single out the young racer's positive demeanor and growing maturity.  

"That meant a lot to me that Don would say such nice things," Welch said afterwards.   

Kenyon wasn't the only one with positive remarks. 

"The DK Promotions staff picked a great location," said Tom Hays who had traveled from Terre Haute for the event.  "The banquet room was extremely nice, the meal was great, and the awards ceremony was well done."

Other Kenyon Midget Series drivers honored were Nick Hamilton as "Rookie of the Year", and Jake Blackhurst who was tabbed "Most Improved Driver".

"Both of those guys improved so much as the season went on," Welch said.  "They're both really good kids too, and I was happy they received some extra recognition."
