Saturday at Anderson Speedway, Dillon Welch looks to secure the 2009 USAC Kenyon Midget Series championship.
Just starting the Feature race will secure the title but you won't find Welch taking it easy.
"It's another day at the race track for me," Welch said. "I'm approaching it just like I do every race. I'm there to win."
The day's schedule is a full one as several other racing series will be sharing the bill with the K-cars. It makes for a long day for the drivers, but an action packed event for the fans.
Practice is scheduled to get underway at noon with qualifying slated for 4:3o. Heat races are set to begin at 6pm and the Features will start at 7pm.
"It kind of reminds me of the old quarter-midget days when you'd be at the track from morning 'til night," Dillon said. "There's no place I'd rather be than the race track so it's ok with me, and the fans will get their money's worth."
And at the end of the day, Dillon should have a little something extra to celebrate. It will be worth the wait.
